This post was written yesterdday but I could not get this site to function.... so here it is... Greetings Elizabeth.....
" Elizabeth! Thought about ya last night and mentioned you to some of their die hard fans. The concert was excellent! The beauty of the concert was seeing Chad's developed talent in instruments. Their showmanship was fantastic and their ability to interplay together was a natural. I can see the heart felt songs they created in their youth are now matched with life long experience in the songs they created. Tampa audience was wonderfully polite, warm, and expressive towards their love of C & J music. The most priceless moment and I hope Jason kept this... was Jeremy's senior moment upon starting a song they had not performed in some time. It was a very poignant moment of C & J today. I would love a copy of the performance.. I met a lovely fan of C & J . Her name is RayLynn and she said she will be joining this board. It seems many did not know about this site. Looking forward to seeing her on the board. She is an absolutely lovely lady. I do feel its worth seeing performers in concert in person. I don't know about others, but one sees a lot of insight into the performers world along with their beautiful music. I met Jason and he is the most charming young man. I met his Dad who is equally charming and very proud of Jason as he should be... I saw Jasons wife but did not get a chance to meet her, but learned she is an attorney , I believe. Lots of attorneys in the audience just by their fans alone! Jason ...well done! I am off to see the Commedia Dell'Arte collection at the Ringling Bros Museum and talk with the curator, then back to Houston. Elizabeth, the concert lacked one thing!.... YOU! Hope to see you at another one. I agree we need more concerts outside of Rhode Island area. Fans were shocked I flew in just to see the concert. I forgot about Summer Song being in the Film "Rushmore". My daughter was in the film. one of a cast of thousands of HS students of the said two schools were in the film..she got some close ups before they realized she was under 16 > She was 15 1/2... but they kept in, the shots of her..... most was filmed with the students before they said she could not work due to her lacking 6 months to be 16. LOL I am glad and so is she, that she is an economist on wall street instead. C & J shared a lot of personal fun facts about themselves and their songs. What the two shared was they were threatened physically by a thug with a record label agent... The same happened to Neil Diamond who had a contract on his life when he left a record label. Remember the world of entertainment is beyond dastardly... it can be deadly with too many ne'er do wells who are in the business part. Neil Diamond said he truly thought he was going to be murdered. After that Diamond took control along with his 2nd wife , his career, contracts and direction...and the rest is history. A performer needs to be more active in the business of their work or at least to the point they get control over what is being done. That being said...... I cannot wait until their pbs special will appear or bio DVD. Two great songwriters and singers... 2008 Lets hope Tx this time. My advice to C & J....Have a good entertainment attorney, watch your financial managers and your agents. I am sure they have learned this by now... Talent is a terrible thing to waste." |

Ooh! I can't wait to see RayLynn on the forums!
It sounds like you had a ton of fun! I agree that they need to go to Texas, then maybe I could see them cause we have friends out there who are like family and I could stay with them. I would have loved to have seen Jeremy's senior moment. That's so adorable! And about the dastardly music business, I was reminded of a plaque my a producer gave my dad that was really funny. It says, "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side. - Hunter S. Thompson" I'm glad you had fun, one of the days I'm gonna get around to seeing them. ![]() |

Tampa Concert | ||

I was at the Tampa concert and totally enjoyed it. Too bad it was so poorly attended. I would make a suggestion to C&J...."Prepare a video show to be shown on a large screen behind you during your performance. I was fortunate enough to see your appearances on Batman, Patty Duke and Dick Van Dyke shows, but many have not. Even those who have would like to see those clips again. You could intersperse with old photos of yourselves and your performances. I think it would greatly enhance the evening and bring you a whole new generation of fans."

We agree with Hunter S Thompson quote. My husband and I have been involved in the arts and the legal parts. Its very true.
The Marx Brothers said since they were kids , they had to carry black jacks for protection, when stage owners would try to cheat them out of their ticket sales % and use black jacks on them. Harpo said... "anyone who talks about the being on the road as the 'good ole days' never was on the road". I have seen supposed honest people in the community, cheat entertainers and artists out of their talented products. Harpo Marx even said they had to fire their mother, Minnie Marx, who had her own talent agency business and used her sons to negotiate her own clients future performances LOL.. she would sell her sons cheaper if they hired her clients. I feel the competition with "Menopause - The Musical" was also a detracting element.

Elizabeth a must for you to read is "Harpo Speaks". It is the History of NYC at the turn of the century and being "on the road". Auto bio of the marx Brothers... do not get the annotated version of "Harpo speaks about NY". I feel they should make a movie out of it.
Oh another thing... read up on John and Mabel Ringling.... I find their art collection exquisite and their lives inspiring.... www.amazon.com/Harpo-Spea...0879100362 I know you would love it. |

I really enjoyed the Exeter, NH show last night (from the front row). Thanks for the meet and greet and the personal touch. You're both in fine form! I love the small venues and you're right - it's like having you play in our living room! Have a good life and keep on singing!
